Time=Strength

It has been way too long since I have posted anything, but I have not had TIME. I don't know where my time goes, because I really don't think I am all that busy...and when I do have time to write, well...nothing comes to mind. I guess the last month has been pretty lame. Let's see...I work in Tacoma, I teach dance, I cook dinner, I do laundry...and I RUN!

Yes, kids...I am still running. And...I am getting STRONGER, but let's face it...running is hard. I have been at this 1/2 marathon training for 6 weeks. I haven't even missed one run, but each day is a challenge. Mark laughed the other day because I explained to him that running is hard because my legs "seize" up. He said there is no way my legs "seize" up when I run 2 miles. OK...so maybe that was an exaggeration on my end, but seriously...my legs feel the BURN!

When I am running, I find myself thinking...A LOT! I can't run with my ipod, because it is a touch screen and it is huge. So...all I can do is listen to cars driving by, enjoy my surroundings, and think. I do quite a bit of self talk and self encouragement and I set little goals as I go. And frequently, I have been comparing my runs to what is going on in my life. Let me be real with you people...being an Army Wife is not as glamorous as it sounds. This is also very hard! Luckily, I do have the most amazing husband, so that makes this journey a smidgen easier...but, I miss TX and my family and my friends! So, back to the point of how my runs parallel my life at this point.

Dealing with the Army and running are both hard...in different ways of course. Running=Physical pain...Army taking my husband away for weeks and months and years=Emotional pain. I am sure you get the picture. Luckily, I know that by going through these challenges...I am getting stronger. I am getting stronger physically and mentally. I know that if the Lord brings me to it...He WILL get me through it. And that, my friends is why TIME=STRENGTH!

Well, I am off for a nice little jog around the neighborhood (Please pray it doesn't start raining in the next 35 minutes!) Then...off to the store to gather lonely wife food...for example: Lean Cuisine and cereal. Then...treats for tonight's Shrinky Dink Craft night.

I promise to post pictures of the above mention Shrinky Dinks...you remember...those things from the 80's. Apparently they are back!
