Recipe Review #2

Crispy Chicken with Bowtie Pasta from Jamie Cooks it Up

This was a delicious meal!  Both of us give it an A!  The downside was that it was a little time consuming to make the chicken and a few of my chicken pieces ended up a little burnt on the bottoms.  Also, it made a huge mess!  This dish isn't good for leftovers, unfortunately!  The chicken was soggy and had a weird flavor the next day, but the pasta and sauce were still good.  So...if you have a lot of time and want a delicious dish you should give this a try...because it really was yummy!

Crock Pot Jambalaya from PlainChicken

This satisfied my pregnancy craving for something spicy and tasty!  This was easy and delicious!  I served it with some home made corn bread and it was fantastic!  Make this soon...you won't be disappointed!  Makes great leftovers!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake from Elizabeth's Edible Experience

I really love having a little dessert after my dinner and I especially love a good strawberry shortcake.  I usually buy the Sara Lee frozen pound cakes for this, but since I had all the ingredients on hand for this little jewel, I decided to give it a try.  It was scrumptious!  I topped it with strawberries and lite cool whip and it was a fresh and somewhat healthy dessert.  It had fruit, so that makes it healthy, right?!  I had to cook mine for over 2 hours even though the recipe says to cook for 1 hour and 40 minutes.  The bottom got a weird sugary crust on it, so I just cut it off.  It was too sweet and crunchy for my taste.  I will make this again anytime I need a pound cake!

Chicken Corn Chowder from Buns in my Oven

I made this last week while it was rainy and a bit cooler.  I had leftover chicken that I shredded up and I used can corn.  It has a great flavor and resembled the chicken chowder from Duke's in Tacoma.  I really liked it and I still have some leftovers to eat today for lunch.  I whipped up some garlic biscuits to go with it.  Yummy!

Sinful Sheet Cake from The Pioneer Woman

Why?!!! Why on earth did I make this?  It is one of the best things I have EVER put to my lips!!!!  My dear husband didn't want any, so there I was left with an entire sheet cake all to myself.  It was oh so tempting....but I listened to my hips and my butt and I resisted!  I ate one piece and maybe a few extra bites and the rest is in the trash!  What a crying shame!!!!  So....don't say I didn't warn you!  Make this with caution and only if you are throwing a huge party and you plan to share the love and calories with your friends!

Happy Cooking and Baking!
